For couples who bond over food, give the restaurant date nights a miss and treat yourself to a cooking class together

This hands-on cooking class is taught by Payal Thakurani, a complete foodie herself. Payal is a passionate chef, cookbook author and cooking instructor promoting healthy Southeast Asian cooking. Payal uses only the freshest homemade spices, carefully selected meats combined with local seasonal produce. Ask her for a tip or two on where to find the best produce and spices in Singapore. All classes include lunch afterwards.  

Location: The cooking studio is amidst a stretch of colorful shophouses on Kampong Bahru Road near Outram Park MRT. After the cooking class, explore the neighborhood or head to the charming neighborhood of Tiong Bahru with its many eclectic eateries and cafes.

Thai Vegetarian Cooking | May 8, Tuesday, 10am - 1pm

  • Pad Siew (Stir-fried rice noodles with Kai Lan-straight from the streets of Thailand)

  • Vegetable Rice Paper Rolls with hoisin-peanut sauce

Indian Vegetarian (All about lentils) | May 15, Tuesday, 10am-1pm

  • Dal Tadka (yellow lentils flavored with cumin)
  • Dal Makhani (quick and easy version made with creamy red lentils)
  • Tridali (mixed lentils flavored with garlic)
  • Chapatis (whole wheat flatbread)

All Fish Class | May 17, Thursday, 10am - 1pm

Learn how to incorporate locally available fresh deep-sea fish in Indian and Thai cuisines. 

  • Goan Fish Curry (snapper cooked in tomato and coconut sauce)
  • Fish Do Pyaaza (mackerel cooked with spiced caramelized onions)
  • Thai Lemongrass Seabass 
  • Coriander Naan

All Lamb Class | May 25, Friday, 10am - 1pm

  • Keema Masala (curried minced lamb with green peas)
  • Bhuna Lamb (succulent lamb in caramelized red onion and tomato sauce)
  • Keema Naan (Naan bread stuffed with spiced lamb mince)

Classic North-Indian Cooking| May 31, Thursday, 10am - 1pm

  • Butter Chicken (tandoori chicken cooked in creamy onion and tomato sauce)
  • Aloo Gobhi (spiced cauliflower and potatoes)
  • Garlic Naan (garlic flavored leavened flatbread)
