DateFyx Guide for 25 Aug - 27 Aug 2017

Happy Friday!

We truly believe that the best part about memories is making them...

Don't wait for the year end, that over-due vacation, the kids to grow up or retirement! Find small pockets of time to connect, indulge, unwind. Here are our recommendations to help you plan this weekend.

DATE NIGHT RESTAURANT

Flying Monkey at Bussorah Street

The Arab Street - Haji Lane - Bussorah Street makes our favorite Date Night itinerary for days when we hit the town with no plan in mind. The weekend welcomes you so wonderfully here with live music, quaint little stores and so much activity. Looking to complete the experience with some indulgence? We recommend Flying Monkey, the quirky Indian restaurant with so much character to it.

Get a seat outdoors to experience the live music and the happy vibe of the street. Great location, great ambiance, but the highlight has to be the food. It has the most authentic and flavorful Indian food, presented with contemporary aesthetics. We loved the fact that the menu is nice and short and would cover everyone's likes. They have vegetarian options and the drinks menu looks absolutely inviting. A must try!

MID-WEEK DATE NIGHT

ADD TO YOUR DATE NIGHT ROTATION

HOLLAND VILLAGE FOOD COURT – As you exit from the Holland Village MRT or are walking from the taxi stand, towards the food court, there is a guitarist with vocals, setting up the perfect ambiance for a great night out. The Food Court has limited but good options – Indian, Thai & Western food stalls and drinks. After your meal, walk along the Lorong Mambong street to feel the unique vibe of this place. Weekends are special to Holland Village and on most Saturday evenings, you can spot a tarot card reader on the street itself. There maybe a queue for her services, but give it a try! Post dinner, there are lots of options for tea, coffee or dessert. Try the Italian Desserts at LA NONNA or walk over to Chip Bee Gardens for the affordable and homemade ice-cream selection at ‘THE DAILY SCOOP’. We love the cute benches there that are just perfect to sit out and enjoy a scoop or two!

Watch this space for more such Food Courts that have great ambience and location.

DATEFYX EXPERIENCES

Still at a loss of what experience to pick for your special occasion? Here are some featured, tried & tested DateFyx experiences:

  • NOX + PERFUME MAKING: A few weeks back, a loving wife treated her husband on his milestone 50th birthday, to their first Mystery Dining experience at Nox – Dine in the Dark. The celebration didn’t just end there. They followed up with a Perfume making session that weekend. They carried home the perfumes that are reflective of their personalities.

  • CERAMICS WORKSHOP: A young couple decided to spend their evening together learning ceramic-making in our 2-hour workshop. They learnt the techniques from the friendly artist instructor and were able to design their own microwaveable, washable ceramic ware. And of course, building everlasting memories together.

  • ACROYOGA + NOX: Just last weekend, a loving husband booked a private 90-minute Acroyoga session to gift to his wife on their 5thwedding anniversary. He followed it up by a dinner at NOX – Dine in the Dark. They had a fun and memorable session with our friendly instructors Mark & Lalitha in their home studio.

We are inspired by these couples. Our take home: never stop dating, whether it’s your first year together or 20th. Sharing experiences together is a great way to celebrate and remember milestones.

Wishing all the Dads out there a very Happy Father's Day!!! You are super special and continue being the hero that you are.

Have a great weekend!
